Hi, I’m Louise.

If you have found your way to this page, it is likely that you are unhappy or discontent with some aspect of your job or career and you feel lost, stuck, frustrated, uncertain, or like you are going round in circles making no progress towards finding a resolution.

Maybe you are feeling trapped or unfulfilled in your current career, but you don’t know how to get out, or what you want to do instead.

Or maybe you are clear on what you want to do but you don’t know how to make it happen or are lacking the confidence to take the first step.

Have you recently been promoted or changed careers and are lacking self-belief in your new role?

Perhaps you are seeking a better work/life balance, but you don’t know how to achieve it or you need some support returning to work following a career break?

Whatever your situation, you recognise the negative impact that it is having on other areas of your life like your health, relationships, and/or self-esteem, and you want to do something about it but you just don’t know where to start or are lacking the confidence to take that first step.

I have been where you are!

I have always been interested in people, how our minds work and the reasons we behave in different ways. It was this interest that led me to complete a BSc Degree in Psychology and pursue a career in Human Resources (HR). I worked for over 10 years in this profession and built a successful career in a large, international organisation. I worked hard to become a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Chartered MCIPD) to acknowledge my learning and experience in this field and I was earning a good salary, yet many aspects of my career weren’t making me happy.

I felt I lacked purpose and passion in what I was doing and I knew that this was negatively impacting on other areas of my life. I wasn't being my best self and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was a career out there better suited to me; but I had spent so much time, energy and money building my HR career, I had a great job, and I had no idea what I wanted to do instead; how could I leave? I had found myself in a situation in which I felt trapped and frustrated, going round and round in circles in my head trying to figure out what, if anything, I should do about it.

Introducing coaching….

It all changed for me when I went on maternity leave with my first child. I wanted to prioritise being a Mum and I knew this wouldn’t be possible if I returned to my old role, which was the motivation I needed to make a change.

This is when I discovered the powerful impact coaching can have on a person’s life. Talking it through with a Coach who knew all the right questions to ask helped me to see what I really wanted but couldn’t see on my own. Following our conversation, I felt like a fog had been lifted as I clearly saw what I really wanted and what had been holding me back from going for it. I had so many realisations in just one conversation, one of which being that coaching is what I wanted to do!

At the end of my maternity leave, I resigned from my 10+ year HR career, completed a Level 5 Diploma in Performance Coaching with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Louise Hawkins Career Coaching was formed.

The result…

Not only has the flexibility of self-employment allowed me to prioritise being a Mum like I so desperately wanted, but I have found in coaching the purpose and passion that I had been searching for. I love what I do and I genuinely feel that I am living a life that is true to who I really am and what I value, which is bringing out the best in me in all other areas of my life as well.

Now, I am passionate about using all of my experience and knowledge to help you to do the same and create a career and life that you love too.

There comes a day when you realise turning the page is the best feeling in the world, because you realise there is so much more to the book than the page you were stuck on.
